Fall 2026 is the first season where most of the new tenants are actually open, the concert stage is running again, and the routines you built pre-summer will look a little different come Saturday night.
That is the piece worth knowing. The clubhouse side of Grayhawk has stayed steady. The shopping-and-dining side, a five-minute drive from the guardhouse, has quietly turned over.

The Kierland Commons Refresh Is Mostly Done
Kierland Commons has been chasing a lifestyle-center rebuild for a while, and the results landed this summer. The center was ranked No. 9 in the Best Shopping Center category of the USA Today 10BEST 2026 Readers' Choice Awards, moving up one spot from its No. 10 ranking in 2025. The ranking is a lagging indicator. The tenant list is the leading one.
A quick tour of what is new since spring:
- Kiehl's Since 1851 opened a new boutique with a grand opening event on Friday, July 17, from 5 to 8 p.m., complete with complimentary treats from local favorite Breezy Pops, beverages, an interactive photo moment, and a live DJ set by DJ Mucci. If you missed opening night, the store is now part of the regular directory.
- Warby Parker joined the lineup this summer, and Evereve unveiled a newly redesigned store following a relocation within the property.
- Relevant Galleries opened its doors on July 1, giving the center a new art anchor.
The reason this matters for Grayhawk residents is walkability. Kierland Commons is home to over 80 specialty retailers and restaurants, with favorites like ALO Yoga, Anthropologie, Athleta, Evereve, Madewell and Vuori, exclusive-to-Arizona brands including Chanel Fragrance & Beauty Boutique, Johnnie-O, Malbon Golf, Mizzen+Main and Wilson Sporting Goods, and dining at Mastro's Ocean Club, Postino Winecafé, North Italia, Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar and Zinc Bistro. The Malbon Golf and Johnnie-O storefronts in particular are worth a stop if your Saturday morning ends at the range.
Also worth knowing if you walk your dog through the property: Kierland Commons itself is generally dog-friendly in common areas, and many restaurants offer dog-friendly patios.
Scottsdale Quarter's Fall Stage Is Back
Cross Scottsdale Road and you are in Scottsdale Quarter, which runs a different play. Where Kierland leans retail, the Quarter leans events. Recently acquired by Vestar and FalconEye Ventures, Scottsdale Quarter is home to more than one hundred national and specialty retailers and restaurants including Apple, Restoration Hardware, Lululemon, Jenni Kayne, Veronica Beard, and Dominick's Steakhouse, and is currently undergoing a phased redevelopment plan aimed at transforming the center into one of the country's most prestigious shopping and lifestyle destinations.
The Quad, the open lawn at the center of the property, is where the Quarter earns most of its Saturday nights. Scottsdale Quarter's annual Fall Concert Series is back, bringing an unforgettable season of live music under the palm trees, with a lineup showcasing talented local bands spanning various genres. On the retail side, two additions worth calendaring. Contemporary fashion brands Hill House Home and L'AGENCE will both make their Arizona debuts at the destination, with Hill House slated to open late summer to early fall of this year, followed by L'AGENCE in early 2027. Hill House Home, known for its signature Nap Dress, grew from a digitally native brand into one with nine locations across the country, and its Scottsdale Quarter location is its first in the Southwest, spanning 2,250 square feet. The Southwest debut is the interesting detail. It is the sort of catchment bet a national brand only places when it believes the neighborhoods feeding the door, Grayhawk included, will show up.
If art is more your speed, Kierland runs its own draw. Kierland Commons has become a destination for arts and cultural events, hosting the Kierland Fine Art & Wine Festival twice each year, an event increasingly recognized as one of Arizona's premier fine art festivals.
What Has Not Changed: The Clubhouse Rotation
While the corridor turns over, the Grayhawk Golf Club side has stayed exactly where you left it in May. That is worth knowing because on the nights when Scottsdale Road is jammed, the clubhouse dining rooms are two minutes from your driveway and rarely full.

If you have out-of-town guests coming for a Talon or Raptor tee time this fall, Quill Creek's patio, with the flicker of two enormous fireplaces radiating a warm rustic feel and a misting system for outdoor enjoyment on the rare occasion when the Arizona weather is uncooperative, still does the heavy lifting after the round.
The Plazas Inside the Gates
The two shopping centers most residents rely on for a Tuesday-night errand run are inside Grayhawk's own footprint. Hayden Peak Crossing is at the southeast corner of Thompson Peak Parkway and Hayden Road, with Fry's Food and Drug as an anchor along with a variety of restaurants, stores and services, and Grayhawk Plaza is on the southeast corner of Grayhawk Drive and Scottsdale Road with dining, shopping and service options.
If you want a wider net without going down to Kierland, Scottsdale Promenade sits at the southeast corner of Scottsdale Road and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, an open-air center featuring over 75 stores. Not glamorous, but useful.
The dining scene immediately around Grayhawk has held up. As of a May 2026 Yelp roundup of restaurants near East Grayhawk Drive, the reliably named list included The Henry, Parma Italian Roots, Local Bistro, Isabella's Kitchen, Phil's Grill, Pinard Wine Bar, Desert Pony Tavern, and Namaste Indian Restaurant. Chula Seafood Grayhawk continues to draw a fresh-fish crowd less than a mile from the community.
A Fall Saturday, Mapped
To make the shift concrete, here is one way a resident-scale Saturday looks now that everything is open.
Morning: coffee at The Morning Joint, then a walk on the Talon side while the temperature is still under eighty. Late morning: a stop at Grayhawk Plaza for whatever the week demands. Early afternoon: swing down to Kierland Commons for the Malbon Golf and Johnnie-O storefronts, a browse through Relevant Galleries, and lunch on a dog-friendly patio at Postino Winecafé or Zinc Bistro. Late afternoon: cross to Scottsdale Quarter, check the Fall Concert Series schedule, and if it is a Saturday between September 20 and November 1, plant a chair on The Quad. Dinner: back at the clubhouse at Isabella's Kitchen, where the kitchen closes at 10 p.m. and the drive home takes six minutes.
That itinerary was harder to build in June. It is easy now, and the reason is not that any single place opened. It is that four or five of them opened at once, and the corridor finally reads as a single connected weekend rather than a set of separate errands.
What This Says About the Neighborhood
Retail turnover in the Kierland-Quarter corridor is not the same as a change to Grayhawk itself, but it is close. The everyday convenience premium that shows up in local listing descriptions, that ten-minute-to-everything positioning, gets stronger every time a national brand picks Scottsdale Road for a Southwest debut. Hill House Home choosing the Quarter over Phoenix or Tempe is a small vote of confidence in the exact catchment Grayhawk sits inside. Kierland Commons climbing a spot in the USA Today rankings is another. None of these are real estate news on their own. Stack them, and they explain why the neighborhood feels denser with options this fall than last.
