At the heart of every thriving community is strong leadership. In McDowell Mountain Ranch, that leadership is embodied by General Manager Chris Richardson and the capable, dedicated team that works alongside him. Their shared commitment to service, transparency, and continual improvement is a big part of what makes McDowell Mountain Ranch one of Scottsdale’s most desirable neighborhoods.
Driving Community Improvements
Over the years, Chris has guided the HOA and Board of Directors through major projects that have elevated the community for residents of all ages.
-
In 2017, a $1.5 million capital improvement project brought a full renovation of the Community Center and Recreation Center parks, including updated playgrounds, landscaping, and the addition of pickleball courts.
-
In 2019, the Association took proactive steps to protect neighborhood integrity by amending CC&Rs to prohibit short-term rentals under 30 days, helping maintain McDowell Mountain Ranch’s sense of stability and community.
-
In 2024, state-required voting preserved the Association’s ability to enforce parking restrictions, with an overwhelming 97% of residents supporting the initiative.
Each of these efforts required clear communication, collaboration, and trust qualities that define how the McDowell Mountain Ranch team operates.
A Team That Makes a Difference
Chris is quick to credit the Board of Directors and the tenured onsite staff for the community’s success. With more than 50 years of combined experience, the staff works tirelessly to deliver on commitments, address resident concerns, and keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. From the Community Relations Committee that organizes events, to the Activities Director who raises the bar for neighborhood gatherings, the people behind the scenes help ensure McDowell Mountain Ranch remains a connected, welcoming place to live.
Building Trust Through Leadership
Chris’s leadership philosophy is simple yet powerful: be transparent, follow through, and treat everyone fairly. It’s this approach, paired with the staff’s consistent dedication, that fosters a strong relationship between the HOA and its residents. The results speak for themselves: higher community involvement, better amenities, and an enduring trust in the HOA’s ability to protect and enhance the neighborhood.
With more than nine years of service as General Manager, Chris has helped guide McDowell Mountain Ranch through key milestones, but it’s the teamwork and resident support that continue to push the community forward. Together, they’ve built more than just a neighborhood, they’ve strengthened the fabric of McDowell Mountain Ranch.
