Best New Restaurant Openings We're Watching This Fall

The Valley's dining scene is heating up this fall. Here are the openings worth knowing about in Phoenix and Scottsdale:

The Valley's dining scene is heating up this fall, with buzzy new spots landing in Tempe, Old Town Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and Downtown Phoenix. Whether you're already open for reservations or counting down to a 2026 debut, here's what's worth knowing about in Phoenix and Scottsdale right now.

Now Open

Roman God of Fire - Tempe

📍 52 E. Rio Salado Parkway | Website | @romangodoffire

James Beard winner Chef Scott Conant, in partnership with Pretty Decent Concepts, opened this 8,000-square-foot live-fire Roman restaurant on Tempe Town Lake on August 7. The menu leans into wood-fired pizza bianca and guanciale carbonara, and a hidden confessional-entry cocktail bar called Mea Culpa is set to open right behind it in September.

The Ends - Old Town Scottsdale

📍 7137 E. Stetson Drive | Website | @endsrestaurant

Inspired by Anthony Bourdain's food travels, this seed-oil-free spot from the Second Story Liquor Bar team has been a Stetson Drive favorite since 2024. Expect handmade pasta, egg yolk nigiri, and a lively, conversation-friendly bar scene.

We've been here ourselves and highly recommend it - a great pick if you're exploring Old Town Scottsdale's dining scene.

Opening Soon

Harry & Izzy's - Paradise Valley

📍 12770 N. Tatum Boulevard | Website | @harryandizzys | Opening August 26

The Indianapolis steakhouse, sister concept to the historic St. Elmo Steak House, is making its first move outside the Midwest with an 8,300-square-foot standalone spot at PV. Expect the restaurant's famous shrimp cocktail, aged steaks, and weekend brunch.

KUZA - North Scottsdale

📍 17767 N. Scottsdale Road (former Chauncey's Social) | Website | @kuzarestaurant | Coming This Fall

From Clive Collective (the team behind Cala and Tell Your Friends), this robata-style Japanese concept from newly named Executive Chef Erik Davila will bring live coal grilling, wagyu, ramen, and sashimi to North Scottsdale. An exact opening date hasn't been announced yet.

Porta Via - Scottsdale Fashion Square

📍 4712 N. Goldwater Blvd. (former Zinqué space) | Website | @portaviaca | Targeting Early 2027

Porta Via is coming to Scottsdale Fashion Square, marking the California bistro's first Arizona location. It's taking over the former Zinqué space in the mall's West Luxury Wing, joining a dining lineup that includes Nobu, Toca Madera, Catch, and Élephante.

Founded in Beverly Hills in 1994, Porta Via built its name on clean California cuisine - think ahi tuna towers, kale and quinoa salads, and Faroe Island salmon - alongside a rotating lineup of seasonal dishes and craft cocktails. Weekend brunch fans can look forward to Grand Marnier French toast and Eggs Royale.

No official opening date has been announced, but signage is already up and the team is aiming for early 2027.

Cala PV - Paradise Valley

📍 PV, west of Blanco Reserva Cocina + Cantina | Website

The second location of Clive Collective's beloved coastal Mediterranean restaurant will bring a 6,500-square-foot space with an elevated wood-fired menu, signature dishes, and a dedicated private event space to the PV redevelopment.

Ada -  Downtown Phoenix

📍 801 N. First Avenue (Historic Stoddard-Harmon House)

A coastal American restaurant from Clive Collective, occupying the historic Stoddard-Harmon House alongside sister concepts Love Call and KUZA Tori. The menu centers on a wood-fired grill and raw bar — think oysters and a daily catch — paired with gin cocktails and spritzes. A standout lush patio anchors the outdoor space. Opening was originally targeted for January 2026 but has slipped; the latest coverage puts it "later this year," with no confirmed date as of mid-August.

LOVECALL - Downtown Phoenix

📍 801 N. First Avenue (Historic Stoddard-Harmon House)

An intimate, circular neon-lit cocktail bar from Clive Collective, sharing the Stoddard-Harmon House with sister restaurant Ada. Chef-partner Beau MacMillan describes it as "small and intimate and really craft-driven" — built for a quick, elevated drink rather than a full dinner commitment. Like Ada, its opening has slipped from an original early-2026 target; current coverage points to a launch "later this year," with no firm date announced yet.

Above All Else - Old Town Scottsdale

📍 7134 E. Stetson Drive, 2nd floor | Website | @aboveallelseaz

This 6,000-square-foot rooftop restaurant and lounge takes over the old STK space with an Art Deco look and skyline views. Expect a seed-oil-free modern American menu including wagyu tartare and lobster tostada paired with playful cocktails.

Whether you're settling into a new neighborhood or just love keeping tabs on the Valley's evolving dining scene, these openings are worth adding to your list this fall. Have a favorite spot you think we should feature next?
